Remote Online Notarization with BlueNotary

View starting prices and download our price sheet.

Meet Kirk Scott, an Illinois commissioned electronic notary public, through BlueNotary for an online signing appointment. Notary Plus Pro Solutions helps eligible signers complete electronic notarizations over a live audio-video session, without traveling to an in-person appointment.

Who can use remote online notarization?

Kirk performs each online notarization while physically located in Illinois. Signers may be in Illinois or elsewhere in the United States, subject to the document, required identity checks, and acceptance by the receiving organization.

If you will be outside the United States, tell us your country and the purpose of the document before booking. Illinois allows certain overseas electronic notarizations when the document has a qualifying connection to the United States. International requests are reviewed individually.

Before scheduling, ask the organization receiving your document whether it accepts an electronic notarization performed by an Illinois electronic notary. Online notarization is not suitable for every document or transaction.

How your BlueNotary appointment works

  1. Request a session. Tell us the document type, number of signers, your physical signing location, time zone, and preferred appointment window. We confirm eligibility, availability, and the fee before the appointment.
  2. Prepare and verify your identity. Follow the secure BlueNotary invitation and complete the required identification steps. Contact us first if you have questions about your identification or witness requirements.
  3. Meet live online. Join the audio-video session, review the signing instructions, and complete the notarial act. The session is recorded as required.
  4. Receive your electronic document. Obtain the completed electronically signed and sealed document through the platform and follow the receiving organization's delivery instructions.

What to have ready

  • Your complete document in an electronic format supported by BlueNotary.
  • Valid, unexpired government-issued photo identification that meets the required verification process.
  • A compatible computer, tablet, or phone with a working camera and microphone, plus a reliable internet connection.
  • A quiet, well-lit space where you can participate in the live session.
  • Any recipient instructions and information about additional signers or witnesses.

Wait to sign until the required notarial act and signing instructions are confirmed. Send sensitive documents and identification only through the secure process provided for your session, not through our appointment request form.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be in Illinois?

No. For an eligible electronic notarization, the signer may be elsewhere in the United States while Kirk remains in Illinois. Requests from outside the United States require additional review.

Will every bank, court, or agency accept the document?

Acceptance depends on the recipient and the document. Confirm their requirements before booking; we do not guarantee universal acceptance.

Is my request an immediately confirmed appointment?

No. We reply with availability, preparation instructions, and a fee quote. Your session is confirmed after the arrangements are agreed.

Can you choose a legal document or notarial act for me?

We provide notarization services, not legal advice. Ask the document preparer, receiving organization, or your attorney for the required document and notarial certificate.
